Since 1990, we have used these fine stallions as the cornerstone of our breeding program. They consistently produce the high quality foals that legends are made of. Their offspring have proven themselves in all areas of performance throughout the world.

To create the finest performance horses, we started with the speed and intelligence of the Top Moon AAAT (AQHA) line with one of his sons, Top Moon River, (center) who was voted Race Horse of the Year by the Montana Quarter Horse Associaton when he was a two year old. When he was 22 years old,(far right above), we kept one of his sons, Top Moon Rising (pictured below left), who
has a beautiful, floating gait, stands 16 hands, is quiet and intelligent making him a natural at Dressage and English disciplines. He is now in training and will be shown in those events in 2004. We kept one of Top Moon Rising's sons, Montana Night Hawk (pictured below right) who will start race and barrel training beginning in 2004.

MONTANA NIGHTHAWK 2002 AQHA Black stallion by Top Moon Rising and a proven race mare, Kwik Knik. Royal was purchased by Corinne Leslie who owns an Olympic English training/riding facility in the Los Angeles area. These pics were taken of Royal at his first show (age 4yrs.) The girl riding is 14 and won the crossrail division (her first championship).Royal is double black gened so he can't produce any "red foals" and was sold in 2006. He has AQHA Racing champions throughout his pedigree. His grandsire, Top Moon River was the Montana Quarter Horse Race Horse of the Year at age 2, his dam by Kiptys Charger was nominated to run in the prestigious Pot of Gold Futurity. "Royal" has a mellow disposition, a smooth gait, lots of speed without any bottom showing potential in English and Western Pleasure. REFERENCE SIRE He was sold to Corinne Leslie of Sonsy Farms in Chino, CA on 5-28-06. She sent a note and the bottom pic of Royal at his first dressage show with a 14 year old rider who was also performing at her first Dressage show. "He scored a 63.692 in his Training Level 2 test. This counts as the first qualifying score towards the youth finals next year. Needless to say, he will only improve from here! Thanks for letting me have this fine animal. Sincerely, Corinne"

Then we add cow sense, color and a quiet disposition. Nevada War Drum, who is double bred by Dixie's War Drum, Q Ton Eagle, and Poco Pepito (AQHA) provides all those traits. When we bred a strawberry roan mare from the Old Tom Cat (AQHA) line, the roan stallion, Nevadas Quick Silver (pictured below left) was the result. When "Silver" was bred to a race bred mare we were blessed with the blue roan stallion prospect Heza Blue Tomcat (below right).

Once the speed, cow, and quiet disposition are built in, we add the incredible athleticism of QT Poco Streke, World Champion Reining stallion. He appeared on both of the performance horse leading sire lists for 2001 and 2002, and QT Poco Streke continued as the leading sire of APHA Reiners in 2001-2004.
QT Poco Streke is presently standing in Missouri. His son The Aztec Eagle (above right) is a natural reiner and passes that trait on to his foals. Aztec is also homozygous for the black gene in addition to the Tobiano gene.

Continuing in the QT Poco Streke line, we also have one of his grandsons, QT Painted Streke (who has McBear Crystal on the dam side). This same cross has produced two National Reining Champions in the US, several others who are currently standing and winning shows in Reining and cow classes in Texas, Brazil, and Australia.

Stetson West 2004 Dun APHA Tobiano stallion. "Stetson" has perfectly correct conformation for a stallion who is built and bred for the performance and/or working ranch cross. His size, chest, neck and head set along with the sought after dun factor, minimal white and solid head all make the best possible cross for your mares that will give you everything you desire in each foal. He has the famous QT Poco Streke/McBear Crystal sire line that consistently produces APHA World Show Reining Champions on top. Stetson's dam is an own daughter of The Aztec Eagle by QT Poco Streke out of a race bred mare with Happy Bars, Tippy Canoe, Truly Truckle and Three Bars on her papers. Truly a stallion for all time to continue the "Legends of Montana" at The Spotted Fawn Paint Ranch.
